LONDON, JANUARY 12th, 2005 - Lisa Thorne, who made a name for herself last year as one of the sports only female riders, will ride in the British Championship GP125s for Team NVidia.

Thorne is the first woman to score points in a British Championship (2001 Aprilia 250 Challenge). She also was the first to qualify into the front of a national grid, in the 2002 GP125s.

Since signing with Team NVidia last year, she has had 9 podiums and 2 fastest laps at Superclub and MRO. NVIDIA Corporation, a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that following on from its successful sponsorship of GR Motorsport in the GP125s in 2004, Team NVIDIA has broken into the premier British Superbike Championship for 2005.

This follows an exciting first year in the sport for Team NVIDIA, taking British Championship race wins and the Irish Championship. “We are very pleased to be able to support such a young and promising team in a tremendously exciting sport”, said Alain Tiquet, group director of marketing EMEA at NVIDIA. “Motorcycle racing is an exhilarating, high-speed, highly-charged sport and it is these qualities and the team’s positive philosophy that make it the perfect partnership for NVIDIA,” he added.

NVIDIA’s sponsorship encompasses all activity surrounding the team, including the team name, race bikes, pit scooters, trucks and clothing.

“We would like to thank our team sponsor NVIDIA for their efforts in 2004”, added Brent Gladwin, team director of GR Motorsport. “This commitment and ongoing support has been a huge boost to the team and has ensured our move to the elite class for 2005.”

22 year old Dennis Hobbs, who has scored 23 podium finishes in the BSB Privateer Cup over the last two seasons, has been signed by Team NVIDIA for the British Superbike Championship. Dennis returns to the track after making a fantastic recovery from serious injury. “The chance of joining a professional team with a successful history has always been my goal”, said Hobbs. “Team NVIDIA has seen past my injury and has plans for my development; I intend to repay their faith in me with results.”
