Powerful Mary Pierce got some of her toughness during
a tremendous row with her father and coach, Jim Pierce, whose name
has been stricken from the WTA media guide. |
She fired him as coach in 1993,
but he continued to stalk her and finally, the tour had to take action, banning
him from even purchasing entry to her tournaments.
Since then, things have been
relatively quiet. Pierce has twice achieved rank as high as No. 3.
